THE ROLE OF CRITICAL THINKING IN THE CONTEXT OF INFORMATION OVERLOAD AND ‘FAKE NEWS’ ON THE INTERNET

This article explores the role of critical thinking as a primary tool for countering information overload and disinformation in today’s digital landscape. The author analyzes the phenomenon of "infodemic" and the neurobiological reasons behind human susceptibility to fake news, including the mechanisms of "cognitive paralysis" and the impact of emotional triggers.
