This article analyzes the linguistic features of At-Tahar Wattar’s novel “The Earthquake” through a linguopoetic approach. The study examines the semantic and semiotic load of the title, evaluative units in the protagonist’s speech, the functions of the images of the “rock” and “smell” within spatial poetics, and the compositional-semiotic role of the lexeme “bridge.” It also reveals the use of Qur’anic intertextuality in the novel and its ideological and artistic impact. The analysis demonstrates that the real “earthquake” in the work is interpreted not as a natural phenomenon but as a linguopoetic expression of the protagonist’s psychological upheaval and the social imbalance within society.
