This article analyzes some scholarly views on verb forms, tenses, and moods presented by the founders of medieval Arabic linguistics - Khalil ibn Ahmad al-Farahidi (718-790), Sibawayh (d.796), and Mahmud az-Zamakhshari (1075-1144), who made a significant contribution to the development of Arabic linguistics.
