This article examines the challenges of translating the linguocultural units in Gafur Gulom’s work “Shum Bola” into English. The focus is on pragmatic adequacy, ensuring that the translation preserves not only the meaning but also the cultural and communicative context of the original. Examples are provided to illustrate translation difficulties, along with suggested strategies to overcome them, facilitating a more accurate and natural conveyance of the author’s ideas to an international audience.
