DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ ENGLISH SPEAKING COMPETENCE THROUGH TASK-BASED LEARNING TECHNOLOGY

This article studies the theoretical and methodological foundations, linguodidactic capabilities and experimental effectiveness of task-based learning (TBL) technology in developing English speaking competence of logistics students. The research was conducted on the basis of the integration of the competency-based approach, communicative language pedagogy, constructivist educational paradigm and English for Specific Purposes (ESP) methodology. The experimental work was organized on the basis of a quasi-experimental design, in which 48 students of the logistics department participated. In the process of experimental training, a system of profession-oriented tasks modeling authentic communicative situations of international logistics activities was developed and put into practice.
