INTERNATIONAL LEGAL REGULATION OF MAINTENANCE OBLIGATIONS: THEORY AND PRACTICE

Abstract

This article examines the international legal regulation of maintenance obligations from both theoretical and practical perspectives. Special emphasis is placed on the 2007 Hague Convention on the International Recovery of Child Support and Other Forms of Family Maintenance. The paper discusses the main provisions of the Convention, its scope of application, its interaction with national legislation, and its significance for ensuring the effective enforcement of maintenance obligations. Additionally, challenges in the practical implementation of the Convention’s norms and possible solutions are highlighted.
