CURRENT PROBLEMS OF HISTORY OF UZBEKISTAN IN THE FIRST YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE

This article examines the pressing issues of Uzbek historical science during the early years of independence. It focuses on the rejection of Soviet ideological narratives, the formation of a national historical concept, the renewal of methodological approaches, and the development of source studies. The role of history in the spiritual renewal of society and in shaping national identity is also highlighted.
