THE SANITARY AND EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SITUATION IN THE FERGANA REGION DURING THE SECOND WORLD WAR (a case study of 1941–1945)

This article analyzes, on the basis of historical sources, the activities of the healthcare system, the sanitary and epidemiological situation, and the dynamics of the spread of infectious diseases in the Fergana region during the Second World War (1941–1945). A sharp increase in cases of typhus, malaria, typhoid fever, and other infectious diseases during the war years was identified. At the same time, it is substantiated that as a result of preventive, disinfection, and vaccination measures carried out by health authorities, positive outcomes were achieved in controlling certain diseases.
