Although the emergence and initial spread of Islam are historically associated with the Arabian Peninsula, its subsequent development is closely connected with the lands of Central Asia. In the advancement of the sacred religion and the elaboration of Islamic legal norms, the contribution of scholars from this region has been invaluable. One of such outstanding scholars is Abu Zayd al-Dabbusi. A prominent jurist, Abu Zayd al-Dabbusi was one of the seven renowned judges of Bukhara and a distinguished representative and leading authority of the Hanafi school of law. This article examines the life of Shaykh Abu Zayd al-Dabbusi, his scholarly contributions, and his dedicated services to the development of Islamic jurisprudence and the Muslim community.
