DOCUMENTS ON THE INTRODUCTION OF A NEW COMMUNICATION SYSTEM IN THE BUKHARA EMIRATE
Ikromjon Shadibayevich Azizov ,Abstract
This article analyzes the introduction of modern communication systems, particularly telegraph and railway services, in the Bukhara Emirate in the late 19th and early 20th centuries based on archival sources. It examines the financial and organizational aspects of these projects implemented under the influence of the Russian Empire, as well as the security measures and their impact on local administration and population. Reports of regional governors reveal practical challenges and their solutions during the implementation process. The study concludes that while the telegraph system contributed to the development of the emirate, it also served to strengthen the colonial interests of the Russian Empire.
