THE ROLE OF URGENCH STATE UNIVERSITY NAMED AFTER ABU RAYHAN BERUNI IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENCE IN UZBEKISTAN (IN THE YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE)

The article analyzes the role of Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhon Beruni in the development of science in Uzbekistan during the first years of independence. The university's scientific potential, the formation of scientific schools, its initial role in training scientific personnel, and its significance in the socio-cultural life of the region are covered on the basis of primary sources, statistical indicators, and archival documents.
