A SOCIO-PHILOSOPHICAL ANALYSIS OF DEBATES AND CONTROVERSIES SURROUNDING IBN ARABI’S DOCTRINE

This article analyzes the role of Muhyiddin ibn Arabi's philosophical and Sufi heritage in the Islamic world and the Western intellectual environment. The author reveals the socio-philosophical reasons for the debates surrounding Ibn Arabi's teachings. In particular, the contradictions between traditional Sharia scholars and the thinker's metaphysical views are explored through the prism of the dialectics of "mass consciousness" and "elitist thinking."
