This article analyzes the origin, essence, and contemporary manifestations of the subcultural phenomenon from a socio-philosophical perspective. The concept of subculture is interpreted as a group culture, formed within the framework of the general culture of society, but differing in its individual values, symbols, and customs. The article highlights the factors contributing to the emergence of subcultures - youth identity, social inequality, globalization, and digital communication processes. The formation of digital, musical, fashion, sports, virtual, and socio-political subcultures in modern conditions, as well as their positive and negative aspects, are considered. In particular, the influence of global subcultures emerging under the influence of the internet and mass culture on national culture was analyzed. In conclusion, the phenomenon of subculture enriches the cultural diversity of society, but can also enter into conflict with social values.
