THE GENDER ISSUE AND THE HISTORY OF ITS EMERGENCE

Abstract

This article explores the historical formation of the gender issue and examines its social, cultural, and philosophical foundations. The author traces the evolution of male and female roles from ancient societies to the modern era. The study highlights the emergence of gender equality ideas during the European Enlightenment and their transformation into major socio-political movements of the 20th century. Furthermore, the article analyzes the development of gender policy in Uzbekistan and its specific features rooted in national traditions and cultural values. The research findings contribute to a deeper understanding of how gender issues have evolved and been reflected in social consciousness.
