STAGES IN THE FORMATION OF THE CONCEPT OF HISTORICAL CONSCIOUSNESS AND NATIONAL IDENTITY IN UZBEK PHILOSOPHICAL THOUGHT

Nurmuhammad Saydullayev ,

Abstract

The article provides a historical and philosophical analysis of the relationship between historical consciousness and national identity in Uzbek philosophical thought. In the context of Jadidism, issues of history, language, enlightenment, and progress are examined through the views of Mahmudkhoja Behbudi, Abdurauf Fitrat, and Abdulla Avloni. The study also analyzes the ideological constraints imposed on historical consciousness during the Soviet period, as well as the intellectual continuity aimed at preserving national history and cultural heritage, particularly Ibrahim Muminov’s approach to the interpretation of Amir Temur’s personality. In the period of independence, the reinterpretation of historical memory, the experience of statehood, and national heritage is assessed as an important factor in shaping national identity. The study employs historical-philosophical, comparative, and conceptual methods of analysis.
